YAMAHA MOTOR Regenerative Lab（通称：リジェラボ）はヤマハ発動機の横浜オフィスできた共創空間だ。ワークショップやセミナーを行われ、キッチン、コワーキングエリアが備わっている。「共感がめぐり、共創が生まれ続ける拠点。」を目指し、訪れる社外の方々と共創の上、様々な新事業やイノベーションを生み出している。
WATARU ARCHITECTSでは企画支援とディレクションを担い、PM・デザイン・施工は船場にて実施した。企画当初にクライアントからの要望を整理するなかで、“作った後を考える”という言葉があがった。これはリジェネラティブを端的に伝える言葉で世の中に存在するあらゆるサービスやプロダクトに共通した問題提起と考える。加えて関係資本が広がり続けるためにこの場のサイクル性が重要事項として浮かび上がった。そのためこの場を“ジュンカンするワークショップ”と定義づけした。

Equipped with a kitchen and coworking area, it hosts workshops and seminars, serving as a hub where empathy circulates and co-creation continuously unfolds. Through collaboration with external visitors, the space generates new businesses and innovations.
WATARU ARCHITECTS led conceptual planning and direction, while project management, design, and construction were carried out by SEMBA. Early in the planning process, a key phrase emerged from client discussions: “Think beyond the act of making.” This succinctly captures the regenerative ethos and poses a universal challenge shared by all products and services in today’s world. To ensure the continuous expansion of relational capital, the cyclical nature of space became a central theme. Thus, the space was defined as a “circulating workshop”—a place where ideas, people, and materials are in constant motion.
Architecturally, the space embraces “unfinishedness,” much like the Sagrada Família, prioritizing openness and a sense of creative chaos. Repurposed materials from Yamaha Motor and broader society were woven into the design, creating a regenerative narrative and a new worldview. The Yamaha philosophy of “playing with nature” is embedded throughout. One playful example: a Yamaha-made pool originally used in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was reimagined as a display area. Within the office, this poolside setting invites unexpected moments of communication—an intentional sense of delightful dissonance.
